Homemade Books: Our Bible ABC Book

Welcome back to Favorite Book Friday! This week's featured book is our family's Bible ABC Book. Filled with pictures of loved ones and special moments, we created it to be a demonstration of God's faithfulness to us, and a Scripture memory tool for when the girls get older. I'll describe Our Bible ABC Book for you, then invite you to page through it for yourself at Shutterfly (the online photo store where we made it).

When Kardelen was a little baby, I went to a scrapbooking party at a friend's house. At one point during the evening, the host passed around a Bible ABC scrapbook she'd made for her girls. A scripture verse accompanied a special picture on each page. I was so inspired!

When we got a credit for a free Shutterfly photo book a year later, I finally made it. Jacob's favorite verses and some of my own are there, as well as cherished family pictures. (Especially meaningful is the picture of Sofia with my Grandma, who passed away this past October.)

Why am I sharing such a personal book? So you can make your own, if you'd like! It can be any format you choose--book, scrapbook, note cards--just use the creativity God has given you and see what happens! And please share pictures when you're done!

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 ESV

Our Bible ABC Book finishes our God's Girls series, and begins our Homemade Books series. Stay tuned for more ideas on homemade books to make for children when Favorite Book Friday returns on August 30!
