Thank you, friends, for the wonderful travel ideas you've shared with me! You've given me lots of good tips, and I'm so thankful! Please, if anyone else has wisdom for me, feel free to leave a comment.
Despite a little "speed bump" when I twisted my ankle on Monday, this week has been filled with trip preparation. The biggest project I'm working on is making Kardelen a take-a-nap, a kind of sleeping bag/mat that she'll sleep in during the whole trip. I'll be sure to post pictures when it's finished! The most fun part of making this has been embroidering the moon and stars on it. (Kardelen loves the moon and stars.)
Here are a few other ideas I'm trying:
Family Stickers: we'll print out small pictures of family members on sticker paper (thanks for this, Mom!) so the girls can stick them in our FamilyFun magazines. Look, Mommy's riding a dog! :)
Fresh Activities: I'm setting aside some activities and snacks just for the return trip, so they'll be completely new and hopefully keep the girls' attention! A new sticker book, pretzel fishy crackers, new memory verse cards, new music.
Big Bags: we're going to try packing our clothes and diapers in Ziploc Big Bags. We figure they'll lay flat and make everything easier to fit in the hatch of the car.
Again, thank you so much for your wonderful ideas!

I've just recently discovered Big Bags too and love them for quilt/blanket storage in a small place!
Hope your ankle wasn't hurt too badly. You will have a wonderful time with your sis and you are VERY prepared for the long trip with kids. Way to go!
Have a safe trip and have fun hugging your new little niece! Sorry you didn't win the baby guess (I really wanted him to come on the 7th too since it's Kathy's birthday!)
Hopefully by the time you get back he will be here and I will be a lot more comfortable!
