We're Moving!

And I'm so, so excited. It all came about very quickly!

On Monday evening (two days ago), our landlords Bob and Julie called us to say their apartment would be vacant October 1, and did we want to rent it? We had already considered the move, since the price of heating oil for our trailer's furnace will be higher than ever this winter, and in contrast, the apartment includes all utilities. After talking it over with them, we made a plan to go see the apartment on Wednesday (today).

About 3:00 today, Julie stopped by and mentioned that the current tenants plan to move by Saturday. This Saturday!

When we came to see it just before dinnertime, they were indeed moving out, and graciously welcomed us to take a look around. Oh, my.

Spacious. Classy paint colors (a green somewhat darker than sage and creamy light brown). Oak trim, with an oak shelf winding around two walls halfway up, perfect for framed family photos.
And space for the girls to run.

The apartment has three bedrooms, in-floor heat, and huge windows. Remember our concern about heating? This place is actually a basement, though being filled with light, it's hard to tell. My husband loves basements. Cool in summer, warm in winter. I can't wait.

I'm going to feel a bit spoiled. Three bedrooms, a stove with a ceramic cooktop, a large kitchen with lots of gorgeous cupboards--I still can't quite believe it. The blessing is that since it includes utilities, it will cost only $80 more than what we pay in rent-plus-utilities right now. And SO much more room for our family.

When are we moving? We haven't set a date with Bob and Julie yet, but probably sometime next week. Which gives us about a week to pack up--wow! If it were up to Kardelen, we'd be sleeping there tonight already! When she told us, "I want to STAY in the place-with-more-room" [which she calls our new apartment], we had to explain that it would be a few days before we could do that.

It won't take long to move, since the apartment is mere yards away from our little trailer. Of course, I'll need to dig up our perennial flowers (and our two monster rhubarbs), but Julie welcomed me to plant them around our new entry. Our tomatoes, squash, sunflowers, pumpkins, and watermelon can keep growing here--we'll just stop by to harvest them!

I can't wait to take pictures this weekend and share them with you! In the meantime, do you have any moving tips for me?

I'll keep you posted!

My best moving tip:

Call Kandi or someone else and BEG BEG BEG them to watch the girls for a whole day! You'll get soooo much done!

It is awesome that God has provided in such a BIG way!!! Boy, your post today sure took me by surprise!

You do realize, don't you, that now you have enough room to have another baby? *s*

I pray that God opens the door for us to find a great deal like this in the near future!

Mrs. Jo,
I've actually been thinking of you guys during this whole excitement, and praying God will provide a place for you, too. :)
