I'd been thinking about reading through the Bible again when I saw this post. Then I found the same One Year Bible plan is available to read online here. You can even listen to each section; I might do this on busy days as I pick up the house in the evening.
For some reason, the electronic format makes it seem shorter to me, and therefore more "do-able." I finished the reading for today--so I'm off to a good start!
Anybody want to join me? Want to read through the Bible in 2010?

I started in 2008. I read a chapter every night and write in my journal. Something I did at first is read a devotionall book too. It was really cool reading ones that went along with what I was reading in the Bible. I have eto get back to that part again. Anyway, I have read the whole Neew Testament minus Matthew Mark Luke and John, because for one I have read them before, for rwo I wanted to save them for last. I am almost done with Psalms and I am going to head on back to Genesis next. It is so amazing what I see when I read whole chapters instead of all the well quoted verses alone. It gives those verses whole new meanings. It makes me happy to hear that somebody else has decided to do this too.
Hi Heather!! What a great idea :-) I'm better off reading my bible book form because my family is always fighting me for the laptop. Its highly competitive deal getting on the puter! Thanks, though for giving me that goal. I should do that!! I can't wait to see you soon!!
Sal-your plan sounds wonderful. If you're reading a chapter every night, when do you think you might finish the whole Bible?
I'm impressed with how serious about God you are. (Not that I'd expect any less--but I'm proud of you.)
i tried once, but i think i need a plan cuz it's really hard to try reading straight through (with all the leviticus-type stuff). i tag you, btw:-D
I think I will finish reading through the entire Bible in 2011. Ha ha it seems like a long time but why rush it? I can read one chapter a night and really read and understand it or I can read six chapters and it will go in one ear and out the other. I know which one I will pick. Me-try reading something easier to understand. Like the amplified or the message or another translation. When I have trouble concentrating I turn my Bible upside down. No seriously everybody should try it. Some people can't read upside down but I can read upside down and backwards and even when the words are all misspelled. Reading upside down takes extra effort and in order for it to make sense you have to read each and every word, which isn't necessary when you are reading right side up. When your Bible is upside down you will be able to concentrate better. It also makes it fun! And as for Leviticus, well I haven't decided what I think about Leviticus!
